JACKSONVILLE, Fla. Businesses are bouncing back in San Marco. It was a part of Jacksonville that saw incredible flooding with Hurricane Irma.
Outside and inside European Street Cafe in San Marco,
there was a lot of activity Thursday.
“We’ve got the troops all in here. We’re just pulling together,” Jessica Land said. She is the General Manager. Contractors and restaurant employees are working to ready the cafe for its grand reopening,
nearly five months after hurricane Irma hit.
“The water went the span of the whole restaurant,” Land said. I’ve never seen anything like it,
” Manager Dezaree Anderson said.
San Marco was underwater.
“It was devestating it was to this area,” Land said. “It affected a lot of people.”
Andy Zarka owns European Street Cafe. “It’s been trying,
” he said.
But now, more restaurants are coming back. Bistro Aix plans to re open next week. This week, its staff is getting trained. And Vino’s has a sign which says re opening soon.
