6/25 Jon Kobert of Ovid was backing a 1992 Mercury Marquis onto Monroe Avenue. Ernest Kinnie of Holyoke was driving a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am east on Monroe. Kobert did not yield right of way and Kinnie hit the back of the Mercury. Trooper Nathan Businger issued Kobert a ticket for failure to yield right of way. Neither driver was injured and both vehicles had moderate damage.
6/26 Robert Cathcart of Chesne, SC was driving a 2007 Kenworth north on Highway 385. The semi drifted off the right side of the road, then came back toward the road before rolling one quarter time. Trooper Marc Bornhoft issued Cathcart a ticket for careless driving. The semi and trailer had major damage and the driver was not injured.
6/26 Karissa Enoch of Fort Morgan was driving a 2002 Saturn east on Highway 6 and was behind Shawn Premo of Denver who was driving a 2008 Ford Escape. Premo was stopped waiting to make a left hand turn and Enoch hit the rear of his car. Trooper John Takahashi issued Enoch a ticket for careless driving. Neither driver was injured and the Saturn had moderate damage and there was minor damage to the Ford.
6/26 Trevor Zuege of Wray was driving a 2008 Kawasaki east on Highway 34,
when he hit a deer that entered the road. The driver was ejected from the motorcycle and everything came to a stop in the ditch. The motorcycle had minor damage and the deer was killed.
6/27 Donald Wright of Akron was driving a 2011 Chevrolet pickup south on Highway 71 and hit one of a group of cows on the road. The vehicle was disabled and Wright pulled to the side of the road. Trooper Woodside covered the accident. Wright was not injured and the vehicle had moderate to severe damage.
6.27 Scott Chartier of Wray was driving a 1991 Toyota Camry west on Highway 34. Charles Devlin of Yuma was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche behind the Toyota. Devlin was attempting to pass the Toyota and Chartier then tried to pass another vehicle while Devlin was next to him. The Toyota hit the right side of the Chevrolet with the driver’s side mirror. The Chevrolet finished passing the first vehicle and both vehicles came to a stop. Trooper Woodside issued Chartier a ticket for changing lanes when not safe. Neither driver was injured and both vehicles had minor damage.
6/28 Trooper Seth Soukup stpped Vicente Alvarez of Brighton for speeding on I 76. Trooper Soukup determined the driver had been drinking. Alvarez was booked into the Morgan County Jail on a $2,000 bond on charges of DUI/DUID and speeding.
6/29 Fred Deollos of Gering, NE was driving a 2008 Dodge Caravan south on Highway 71 when a deer came onto the road in front of him. The vehicle came to a stop on the side of the road. The driver and his three passengers were not injured,
the deer was killed and the vehicle had moderate damage. Trooper Woodside responded to the accident.
6/29 Trooper Marc Bornhoft investigated another vehicle/deer accident. Sara Rogers of Otis was driving a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix east on Highway 14, when she hit a deer that entered the road. The driver came to a stop. The driver was not injured, the vehicle had moderate damage and the deer left the scene.
6/29 In another vehicle/deer accident,
Gloria Nebarez of Denver was driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota east on Highway 6, when she hit a deer that entered the road. Trooper Marc Bornhoft covered the accident. The driver was not injured, the vehicle had moderate front end damage and the deer was killed.
6/30 Trooper Seth Soukup stopped Britney Lucas of Thornton for speeding on I 76. The driver was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail on a $750 bond and charged with excessive speed.
