black patent dr martens UCO’s Broadway Tonight presents Diavolo Dance Company
Jan. 30 in Mitchell Hall Theatre on UCO’s campus.
The Diavolo Dance Theatre, runner up in last season’s “America’s Got Talent” television show, performs with interactive sets and acrobatics, as it incorporates abstract narratives into the human experience. The show will use dance to explore the relationship between the human body and its environment, creating an exceptional viewing experience for students and patrons alike, involving both culture and education.
“This show is going to have great appeal to our audiences, especially since Diavolo was one of the finalists in last season’s ‘America’s Got Talent,’ next to Oklahoma City’s Darci Lynne Farmer, so that’s a really cool connection to our community. If you like Cirque du Soleil, you’re going to love Diavolo,” said Greg White, executive director of Broadway Tonight and director of Musical Theatre at UCO’s School of Music.
“Diavolo is going to perform, and our UCO dance students will perform a number with the dance company. It’s a great transformative learning opportunity for our students to rehearse and perform with professionals, and nothing beats that type of experience.”
Broadway Tonight is an on campus celebrity performance series of the UCO College of Fine Arts and Design that integrates student arts programming with professional artists, to enrich both the students and the community.
The event is supported, in part, by the Oklahoma Arts Council, which receives support from the state of Oklahoma and the National Endowment for the Arts.
