A 2 year old boy remains in a critical condition in hospital, after he was hit by a reversing car near Maitland. Emergency services were called to Segenhoe Street at Woodberry just after 6:30 on Saturday evening, after reports a child had been struck by a reversing Holden Commodore. Paramedics treated the boy on scene, before he was taken to John Hunter Hospital, where he underwent surgery. The driver of the car, a 22 year old woman was charged with multiple offences including dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

A Central Coast man has been arrested, after allegedly leaving the scene of a fatal crash on the M1 yesterday afternoon. The crash which occurred near Mount White claimed the life of a 46 year old man, while the driver of a truck was taken to hospital for mandatory testing. a 25 year old man was arrested at Wyong and charged with multiple offences including negligent driving occasioning death. He will face court later today.

An 88 year old man has died after the vehicle he was driving collided head on with a prime mover, on the New South Wales North Coast. Just before 7pm on Friday, a Toyota Sedan and a Volvo prime mover, travelling in opposite directions collided on the Pacific Highway at Broadwater. The driver of the sedan died at the scene, while the 51 year old truck driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing. It the second fatal accident on that stretch of road in a week, after a motorcyclist was killed last weekend.

A 30 year old male has been charged with firearm and drug possession offences after being stopped by police in East Maitland overnight. Around 11.40pm, officers were patrolling Burke Street, when they noticed a vehicle doing a U Turn at the end of the street. Officers pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver and his female passenger. A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly located a firearm,
